About Dr. Jim Tofflemire
Based in Athens, Tennessee
Dr. Jim Tofflemire is an engineer and research scientist with 40 years of experience. He holds a Doctor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering and a Master’s in Christian Ministry (Campus Crusade for Christ / Cru). He has authored 50+ publications in technical journals and other media and is a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM). For the past 20 years he has focused on Christian apologetics.
Book
Evidences for God and His Creations: Nature, the Flood, and the Bible — A Summary Apologetics Book Assembling a Puzzle (2020 edition available on Amazon), published by AuthorHouse.
The book is a literature review of the major apologetic author’s works with over 200 references. It is compressive in covering all parts of apologetics in a brief summary way. It begins by covering what is truth and how logic is important. It has many tips for witnessing to different classes of people. A search revealed the word Truth is used 176 times in the bible. John 8:32 “You will know the truth and it shall set you free.” Studies have noted that for youth- saying they are Christians on a survey,- about 70% fall away from the church in High School and college, due to the atheistic and left leaning professors. Studies also show that this loss is reduced to about 35% loss, when the students have had a course in apologetics. This weights on my heart, so I have taught an 8 session course on apologetics to students at several churches.

Teaching & speaking
Dr. Tofflemire has taught children’s lessons in after-school programs for 5 years. His specialties include witnessing techniques, Creation Science (astronomy, biology, geology), and Apologetics & Worldviews (laws of logic, common arguments for the existence of God, and critiques of naturalism, humanism, skepticism, polytheism, and pantheism). He has taught students from 2nd grade through high school. Prior video-conference coordinator for Answers in Genesis.
A note on “Truth”
Since 2020, Dr. Tofflemire has taken a special interest in the topic of Truth—in both news and science. Papers on Truth are included in the Papers section of this site and encourage discernment regarding media and scientific claims. During the pandemic, he believes some medical voices offering COVID-19 treatments were dismissed as “disinformation” while vaccines were promoted as the only option. With changes in national health leadership (including Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health), he believes more information is coming to light.
